Sheffield Trans Day of Remembrance - 5.30 - 8pm

Monday 20th November

Sheffield Trans Day of Remembrance 2017 – Sheffield Hallam LGBT+ Rep / SAYiT / T-Boys
Monday 20 November 2017, 5.30pm to 8pm
Hallam Square, Howard Street, S1 2PR

Transgender Day of Remembrance is held every year in November to mourn those lost to transphobic hatred and violence. These are deaths that are largely ignored by mainstream society, but send shockwaves through the trans community. TDOR gives us a day to grieve, but also to celebrate the lives that have been tragically cut short by hate crimes. Join Sheffield Hallam LGBT+ Rep / SAYiT / T-Boys in Hallam Square from 5.30pm for a vigil to remember the members of our worldwide community who are no longer with us. After the vigil SAYiT will be hosting a Celebration and Commemoration Event at Scotia Works from 7-8pm. There will be refreshments and some empowering positive activities to bring the community together. Both events are open to everyone, and allies are very much welcome. A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
