Sheffield HOPE not Hate Community Organising Training Day - 10am - 4pm

Saturday 22nd October

A day’s training run by Hope Not Hate community organisers for activists (and budding activists!) of all levels of experience. The day is broken down into several individual, interactive, sessions designed to develop some of the skills required to be a successful community organiser, as well as identifying key issues in our communities.

Together, they will:

- Explore how story and narrative can be used to build campaigns
- Establish how to identify key issues
- Consider how we build power effectively in a movement
- Explore how to identify and engage with allies and key stakeholders
- Work through some excellent organising tips and tools
- Emerge with a concrete strategy for organising for social change in Sheffield.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
