#SpeakUp Grants

#SpeakUp Grants

Speak up about health care and you can gain a grant thanks to a new initiative launched by Healthwatch Sheffield.
The #SpeakUp grants programme is offering up to £500 for groups who organise projects to help people share their experiences of health and care services, which can range from visiting your GP or optician to being treated in hospital or receiving care at home.

Margaret Kilner, the organisation’s chief officer, said: “It is another opportunity for people to make their voices heard – whether the experience changed life for the better of they have a burning idea that they’re convinced will improve the care provided in the city. We look forward to hearing from groups who have innovative ideas on how they can make this happen.’

Not for profit, third sector, voluntary or community groups can apply for the grants of up to £500. They have until January 31 to apply.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
