Shine Out on Saturdays with Sheffield Mencap

‘Shine Out on Saturdays’ is a performing arts project from Sheffield Mencap for young people aged 10-18 with learning disabilities and/or autism.

The project uses drama, dance and art as a tool to develop self-confidence and social skills. It also provides a great opportunity for young people interested in drama and art to meet like-minded individuals.

The project runs fortnightly on a Saturday morning from 10am – 12.30pm and costs £3 per session. Shine out aims to provide an environment that encourages creativity in a safe and positive atmosphere.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
