Could you be a VAS Trustee?

Voluntary Action Sheffield (VAS) has provided support and leadership for the voluntary sector in Sheffield for over 90 years, and now they’re looking for up to four new trustees to join their board.

VAS focus on community impact, influence decision makers and champion volunteering as a force for positive action.

Their vision is for people to work together to make a vital and growing contribution to the quality of life in all Sheffield’s communities.

Their mission is to support the development of voluntary and community action in a professional way, so it is sustainable and brings about positive social change.

Voluntary Action Sheffield is governed and led by a board of trustees, who are responsible for ensuring that VAS fulfill their purpose, use their resources to best effect and comply with the law. It is this board of trustees that VAS are looking to add up to four new members to. More information about the current board members can be found on the VAS meet the board page.

VAS is hoping to strengthen and diversify their board and are keen to appoint people who are actively involved with Sheffield’s voluntary and community sector or social enterprise sector. They would particularly welcome applicants who have a disability and/or who are from Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic groups.

If you would like more information on the role of VAS Trustees, please see the VAS Trustee role description. If you have any questions you can contact VAS chair Andy Buck via Alison McCrave at a.mccrave@vas.org.uk or VAS CEO Maddy Desforges at m.desforges@vas.org.uk

If you would like to apply to join the VAS board of trustees, please complete the VAS Trustee Application Form and send it to Alison McCrave at a.mccrave@vas.org.uk by 5pm on 14th December 2018.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
