Age Better in Sheffield 50+ Free Counselling Service

Are you over 50 and feeling isolated or lonely? Sheffield Mind are working in your area offering free one to one counselling in your home or at a local convenient location. You can talk in confidence to a qualified counsellor about how you feel, why you are isolated or lonely and how you may like to start reconnecting with people and your local community. Sometimes we can feel lonely even when there are people around. Sometimes events from the past continue to disturb us and stop us from living lives as fully as we could – and from connecting with other people. The service is part of the Age Better in Sheffield programme. Clients meet with a counsellor every week, usually at the same time and each session lasts 50 minutes. A series of 6 sessions is sometimes enough or you may require counselling over a longer period of time. You can self refer or be referred by a professional. If you would like to find out more about the service ring South Yorkshire Housing on ( 0114 ) 290 0250 or Sheffield Mind on ( 0114 ) 258 4489, email therapy@sheffieldmind.co.uk or visit Sheffield Mind’s website .

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
