There’s also a new report from the RNID saying the way deaf people are valued, supported and communicated with in our society really does matter. It matters to us too.

    Sheffield Voices is recruiting a Project Development Worker. You will be working in a small but busy team assisting with the day to day running of community social advocacy projects. Your job role will include attending and co-delivering group sessions, workshops, and events.     Sheffield Council has commissioned The PA Champion project designed to raise awareness of direct payments within the city, with a particular focus on Personal Assistants. They are advertising two PA Champion posts ( closing date 7 June ) and looking for five Co-Design Group Members with lived experience of employing PAs or personal assistants themselves to help shape delivery of the project.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
